2023年9月9日，山度-玛丽亚姆创新科技大学中文选修课开班仪式于大学主校区礼堂顺利举办，约200人参加了此次开班仪式。本次活动由山度-玛丽亚姆-红河孔子课堂主办，出席本次活动的嘉宾有山度玛丽亚姆创新科技大学董事会主席暨课堂理事会孟方主席莫斯塔菲祖尔·哈克教授、代理校长暨财务主管纳哈教授、大学注册官巴尔·莫希尔·拉赫曼博士、大学美术学院、音乐学院系主任、孔子课堂中孟方主任等。

On 9^th September, 2023, the Orientation Ceremony of the Chinese Elective Course for SMUCT Students was successfully held in the auditorium of the university’s main campus. About 200 people attended the ceremony. This event was hosted by Shanto-Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom. Professor Mostafizul Hoque, Chairman of the Board of Trustee of Shanto Mariam University of Creative Technology and Bangladeshi Chairman of the Board of Management of Shanto-Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom, Professor Nahar, vice chancellor (in-charge) and treasurer, Dr. Par Mosiur Rahman, the registrar of SMUCT, deans, chairpersons of the department of fine arts and the department of music, the Chinese and Bangladeshi director of Shanto -Mariam – Honghe Confucius Classroom presented in the programme.

本学期，山度-玛丽亚姆-红河孔子课堂针对山度玛丽亚姆创新科技大学学生提供两门选修课程：汉语会话（初级）课程与HSK一级课程。注册学生共有252人，分为9个班级授课。因场地的局限性，约170名学生参加了开班仪式。

Two elective courses are opened for SMUCT students in this semester, which are the Conversational Chinese (elementary) and HSK Level-1. A total of 252 students registered for these two courses. The total number of students are divided into 9 batches. Nevertheless, only around 170 students could attend the orientation due to the limited space of programme venue. 

开班仪式由山度-玛丽亚姆-红河孔子课堂中方主任致欢迎辞并对中文班学生致以美好的期许；山度-玛丽亚姆-红河孔子课堂孟方主任马苏德先生给学生分析了学习中文的广阔前景；课堂学生李冰、戴维分别向在场学生分享了他们近期参加的赴华文化交流体验营的难忘经历；山度玛丽亚姆-红河孔子课堂本土教室毛大海老师跟学生们分享了中文学习策略；大学董事会主席哈克教授在活动的最后作了总结发言，并分享了他当年留学日本的经历，教诲学生们要珍惜当下学习中文的好机会，勤学好学；整场活动的间隙，课堂教师钟倩云在每个环节间隙向在场学生插播文化问答环节，让学生快乐地了解中国文化。

At the ceremony, the Chinese director of Shanto-Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom Prof. Zhang Xi delivered a welcome speech and expressed good expectations to the students; Mr. Masud, the Bangladeshi director of Shanto Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom, analyzed the promising prospects for learning Chinese to the students. Classroom students Li Bing and David shared their unforgettable experiences of the cultural exchange experience of the different summer camps that they recently participated in China. Senior local teacher Mohiuddin Taher from Shanto-Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom shared Chinese learning strategies with the students. Professor Haque made a concluding speech at the end of the event and shared his experience of studying in Japan decades ago. He urged the students to cherish the good opportunity to learn Chinese and study diligently. Simultaneously, Chinese teacher Miss. Zhong Qianyun stitched a cultural Q&A session through the entire programme, allowing students to learn about some Chinese culture cheerfully.

“路虽远，行则将至。” 山度玛丽亚姆创新科技大学作为山度-玛丽亚姆-红河孔子课堂的孟方合作院校，中文课程的开启象征着课堂与大学融合发展的新时代到来，2023年亦当记作山度-玛丽亚姆-红河孔子课堂迈入大学课程体制的元年，愿国际中文教育在山度-玛丽亚姆创新科技大学落地生根，枝繁叶茂，硕果累累。

Although the road is far away, as long as we go, we’ll arrive. The starting of Chinese courses symbolizes the arrival of a new era of integrated development between the Classroom and Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology which is the Bangladeshi partner university of Shanto- Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom. The year 2023 marks the first year that Shanto-Mariam-Honghe Confucius Classroom entered the SMUCT’s curriculum system. It is expected that international Chinese education will take root at SMUCT, flourish and bear fruitful results in future.
