The International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship is established by the Center for Language Exchange and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education (hereinafter referred to as the Center) to meet the growing demand of the international community for Chinese language education talents and promote the growth of international Chinese education talents, with the focus on training qualified overseas Chinese teachers. Honghe University sincerely invites overseas outstanding students and in-service Chinese teachers to study and engage in advanced studies in Honghe University. The application methods are as follows:

I. Subsidizing object

1. Non-China citizens;

2. Being friendly to China, having no criminal record, and abiding by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school;

3. Having good physical and mental health and excellent academic performance;

4. Aspiring to engage in Chinese education, teaching and related work;

5. Undergraduate scholarship applicants should be 18-25 years old; trainee scholarship applicants should be 18-35 years old; in-service Chinese teachers should be no more than 45 years old. The deadline of age calculation is September 1, 2026 in a united manner.

III. Contents of scholarship

1.Coverage: tuition, accommodation expenses, living expenses（except for 4-week program participants） and comprehensive medical insurance.

2.Living expenses standard: the standard for undergraduates, one-year and one-semester trainees is RMB 2500/month.

IV. Application process

1. Starting from March 1, 2026,applicants should log in to the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship section on the website of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (http://www.chinese.cn) to query the recommended institutions. Select "Honghe University" as the receiving institution. Submit the application materials online and pay attention to the application process, review comments and the results of the scholarship assessment.

Note: hotmail(QQmail), 163mail and 126mail are recommended for the email address in "Basic Information". Gmail and Yahoomail are not recommended；Applicants are required to contact the recommending institution directly to request recommendation support.

2.Honghe University will review the admission qualifications of applicants and recommend scholarship candidates to the Center for Language Education and Cooperation on a competitive basis.The final admission decision shall be determined by the evaluation result of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation.

3.Honghe University will confirm the admission with the scholarship recipients.The recipients shall log in to the“Honghe University Education Open Management Systerm”to finish the registration process, submit information online, upload supporting materials and handle the procedures for studying in China. After registering at Honghe University within the specified time, the scholarship recipients can enjoy the benefits of the International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship.

4. In case of failing to pass entrance examination, dropping out of school, not registering on time without permission and suspension of schooling, the scholarship qualification is cancelled.

5. Academic students must participate in the annual review as required. Only after passing the review can they continue to enjoy the scholarship for the next year.

V. Application materials

1. Application Form of International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship;

2. Scanned copy of passport photo page;

3. Scan of HSK and HSKK report (valid for two years);

4. Letter of recommendation issued by the person in charge of the recommendation institution;

5. Applicants should provide a notarized certificate of the highest academic qualification (graduation expectation certificate) with Chinese or English translation and a school transcript;

6. On-the-job Chinese teachers must attach the employment certificate and recommendation letter issued by their employers.

VI. Deadline of application

1. Admission in September 2026: the deadline for application is May 15, 2026;

2. Admission in March 2027: the deadline for application is October 31, 2026.
