IV. Registration conditions
1. Basic requirements
a. Non-China citizens with valid foreign passports, who are in good health, have good moral character and have no criminal record.
b. Abiding by the laws and regulations of China and the school rules and regulations, respecting the customs and habits of the Chinese people, and having good moral character.
c. Having physical health status conforming to the "Health Examination Standard for Overseas Students in China" promulgated by the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC).
d. Age range:
Undergraduate: 18-35 years old; preppies majoring in Chinese: 18-55 years old; non-academic short-term students: 18-55 years old.
e. Graduated from high school or equivalent and have relevant certificates.
Remarks: please refer to Annex 2 for the registration conditions and requirements of one-year advanced students of Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship for Overseas Students and one-year advanced students and one-semester advanced students of Scholarship for International Chinese Teachers .
2. Admission requirements
Academic students: providing HSK Certificate IV during admission, and participate in the entrance examination organized by the college where the major is declared;
Preppies:
a. After admission, the students first study Chinese as a preparatory course. After passing the HSK Band Four Exam and passing the entrance examination for the major they apply for, they may change their majors to the undergraduate majors;
b. Students who have the conditions to takes the coruses of undergraduate major, but voluntarily apply to study the courses preparatory Chinese.
V. Registration method and materials
1. Application methods
a. Online registration: sending scanned copies of relevant registration materials to the email address: 3103891441@qq.com or hvhh@uoh.edu.cn.
b. On-site registration: the applicant or the client brings the original registration materials to the school for on-site registration (address: B102, Student Activity Center of Honghe University, Mengzi City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province).
2. Application materials
a. Application Form for International Students of Honghe University (please fill out the form in Chinese or English and submit Excel document and signed scanned copy);
b. Personal information page of the passport (the passport is valid for more than one year), scanned copies of the last used visa page and entry and exit stamp page (if the passport has not been applied yet, the scanned copy of ID card can be provided first);
c. Electronic bareheaded photo (color 2-inch bareheaded photo with no border on white background. The head accounts for 2/3 of the photo size. The photo size is not less than 320*240 pixels. The aspect ratio is 4:3, and the file size is 100-500 KB, in JPG format);
d. High school graduation certificate, or the graduation certificate issued by the school for fresh students having not yet obtained the graduation certificate (notarized, with Chinese or English translation);
e. Transcript of high school graduation examination (notarized, with Chinese or English translation);
f.HSK Band Four report (provided by academic students)
g. Proof of no criminal record (notarized, with Chinese or English translation);
h. Proof of family economic guarantee (notarized, with Chinese or English translation).
i. Letter of recommendation (issued by the relevant person in charge or class teacher of the school of the highest academic qualification).
Remarks: all application materials must be provided with regular scanned copies in PDF format. Photos taken by mobile phones or cameras are not accepted.
VI. Charging standards
1. Tuition: RMB 8400/academic year
2. Accommodation expenses: RMB 1,200/academic year
3. Fees for all kinds of relevant formalities: insurance premium RMB 435/year, physical examination fee RMB 233/time, and residence permit fee RMB 400/year (Remarks: charged by the relevant machine according to the current charging standards of relevant departments when the applicant reports to the school. The specific amount may vary moderately.)
VII. Scholarship
1.School-level scholarship of Honghe University
A. Type of scholarships
a. Freshmen scholarship
Undergraduate and preppies are admitted as students receiving half scholarship (free of half tuition). (Remarks: the admitted students should sign a "scholarship agreement" with the school when they enter the school. After signing the agreement, the tuition fee for each academic year will be RMB 4200, which is half of the current standard. It shall be paid at the time of registration. )
Qualification of enrollment:
Undergraduate: foreign students with excellent academic performance in high school (or equivalent), with HSK Certificate IV and no criminal record, can directly enter professional study after the entrance examination.
Preppies:
+Foreign students with excellent grades in high school (or equivalent), no criminal record, excellent academic performance, but whose language ability has not yet reached the professional standard.
+Students who are qualified for the study of undergraduate major, but voluntarily apply to study the course of preparatory Chinese.
b. Annual assessment scholarship
After completing the first year of study, the students voluntarily apply for school-level scholarships according to their own actual conditions, participate in the annual scholarship evaluation within the whole school, and are recommended and publicized by their colleges according to their performance, grade points, comprehensive quantification, and usual performance. After examination and approval by the school, they will be given scholarships of different grades.
B. Scholarship years
Undergraduate students can enjoy school-level scholarships within 4 years of the standard academic system, and those who have exceeded the fixed number of years will be turned into self-funded students. They can continue their studies only after paying the fees according to the credit tuition standards implemented for the Chinese students in the school in the past year.
Preppies can enjoy the school-level scholarship within one year's study period. Those who fail to reach the professional standard in Chinese for more than one year will be self-funded students, and they can continue to study after paying the tuition fee in accordance with the school's current tuition standard for preparatory Chinese course (RMB 8400/year/student) until their Chinese level reaches the professional standard.
2. Other scholarships
Honghe University provides the application for other kinds of scholarship, including "Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship for Overseas Students", "Scholarship for International Chinese Teachers" (see Annex 2 for details) and social donation scholarships from other channels (the specific scope, objects and forms of funding will be determined according to the specific situation of the year after students enter school).
VIII. Deadline forregistration August 15, 2023.
IX. Admission and notification
1. Honghe University will review the application materials provided by the applicants, and select those who meet the requirements on merit.
2. Honghe University will send the admission notice and related materials to the admitted students before September.
3. Students who have been admitted should not change their major and duration of study in principle.
XI. Registration for admission
1. The time and requirements for enrollment registration should be subject to the admission notice. Freshmen should provide the original of all the above application materials during registration. Those who can't provide the real original will be disqualified.
2. Those who can't register on time for special reasons must apply to the school in advance in writing, and their registration may be postponed after obtaining the approval; those who fail to register on time without approval will be disqualified.

Annex 2: Information on Scholarships for International Students of Honghe University
Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship
for Overseas Students
To better serve the goal of building Yunnan Province into an international gateway for China to South Asia and Southeast Asia, strengthen friendly and cooperative relations with neighboring countries, improve the educational level and efficiency of Yunnan Province, and serve the personnel training in China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, the Yunnan Provincial Government has specially established the Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship for Overseas Students (hereinafter referred to as "the Provincial Government Scholarship").
I. Enrollment scope
Undergraduate, preppies and advanced students
II. Enrollment country
Giving priority to countries along the "the Belt and Road Initiative" and countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia, and giving consideration to other countries.
III. Enrollment time
The enrollment starts from February to April every year (see the annual enrollment guide for specific time)
IV. School applied
Please fill out "Honghe University" in the column of "School Applied" in the application form.
V. Application conditions
1. Non-China citizens with valid foreign passports;
2. Having good conduct, good health and excellent grades, being able to consciously abide by the laws and regulations of People's Republic of China (PRC) and the school rules of Honghe University, respecting the customs and habits of Chinese people, and having no criminal record;
3. Students studying for their undergraduate degree and preppies must have high school or equivalent academic qualifications and should be no more than 25 years old; advanced students must have a bachelor's degree or above, and should be no more than 55 years old;
4. In principle, the applicants should have a Chinese proficiency reaching Band Four of Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK), except for preppies and advanced students.
VI. Scholarship criteria
1. Criteria: preppies and advanced students: RMB 30,000 / year / person (1year); Undergraduate: 35,000 yuan/year/person (4-5 years).
2. Coverage: tuition, on-campus accommodation expenses, living expenses, insurance premiums and handling fees.

Scholarship for International Chinese Teachers
The Scholarship for International Chinese Teachers is established by the Chinese-foreign Language Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education (hereinafter referred to as the Center) to meet the growing demand of the international community for Chinese language education talents and promote the growth of international Chinese education talents, with the focus on training qualified overseas Chinese teachers.
I. Subsidizing object
1. Non-China citizens;
2. Being friendly to China, having no criminal record, and abiding by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the school;
3. Having good physical and mental health and excellent
academic performance;
4. Aspiring to engage in Chinese education, teaching and
related work;
5. Undergraduate scholarship applicants should be 18-25 years old; applicants for trainee scholarships should be 18-35 years old. The in-service Chinese teachers should be no more than 45 years old. The deadline of age calculation is September 1, 2023 in a united manner.

III. Contents of scholarship
1. Coverage: tuition, accommodation expenses, living expenses and comprehensive medical insurance.
2. Living expenses standard: the standard for undergraduates, one-year and one-semester trainees is RMB 2500/month.
IV. Application process
1. Applicants log on to the scholarship platform (cis.chinese.cn), register online and fill in the Application Form of Scholarship for International Chinese Teachers, and upload scanned copies of relevant certification materials as required; inquire the recommending institution, and choose "Honghe University" for the receiving institution.
2. The recommendation institution recommends qualified applicants to Honghe University on merit;
3. After reviewing the applicants' admission qualifications, Honghe University will recommend the scholarship candidates to the Center for Language Education and Cooperation on merit.
4. The Center for Language Education and Cooperation organizes experts to conduct centralized review and select the candidates on merit.
5. Applicants follow up the application process, review opinions and scholarship evaluation results in the system.
6. Honghe University confirms the admission with the students. Scholarship winners can print the award certificate online and enjoy the international Chinese teacher scholarship after registering at Honghe University within the specified time.
7. In case of failing to pass entrance examination, dropping out of school, not registering on time without permission and suspension of schooling, the scholarship qualification is cancelled.
8. Academic students must participate in the annual review as required. Only after passing the review can they continue to enjoy the scholarship for the next year.
V. Application materials

2. Admission in March of the next year: the deadline for application is November 15 of the current year.
